Caitlin Adler
Founder and Executive Director
Caitlin Adler brings a unique and diverse background to her work, with 15 years spent in some of the most prestigious kitchens as a pastry cook. After leaving the culinary world in 2012, she transitioned into designing commercial kitchen and restaurant layouts for a consulting firm, eventually moving into user experience (UX) design. While working in UX, Caitlin launched a passion project in 2016 to address a critical gap in services for people experiencing homelessness—access to clean, well-fitting, and seasonally appropriate clothing tailored to individual needs.
That project evolved into Project Ropa, a nonprofit organization that now operates the only mobile clothing closet of its kind in Los Angeles. Under Caitlin’s leadership, the organization combines sustainability with dignity-driven outreach to serve thousands of people each year. Caitlin is also focused on advocacy work to have clothing formally recognized as an essential resource in the state of California.
In her free time she enjoys traveling, great food, and is passionate about building a sense of community for people without children—something she actively fosters by hosting thoughtful and inclusive dinner parties.
